On the afternoon of July 28, Jin Ronghua, Secretary of the Party Committee of the National Meteorological Center, along with other leaders, visited Guangzhou to inspect the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Sub-center of the World Meteorological Center (Beijing). Zhuang Xudong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Guangdong Provincial Meteorological Bureau, accompanied the delegation during the inspection.
Jin Ronghua visited the construction site of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Sub-center and the Greater Bay Area Meteorological Technology Integration Innovation Platform, located in the Huangpu District of Guangzhou. She conducted an on-site inspection of the project and received an update on the latest progress.
At the Municipal Bureau, Jin Ronghua listened to a report from the Party Leadership Group of the Guangzhou Municipal Meteorological Bureau on the next steps for the project. She highly praised the Municipal Bureau’s significant achievements in promoting the implementation of the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Meteorological Development Plan" and accelerating the construction of the Greater Bay Area Sub-center and the Meteorological Technology Integration Innovation Platform. Jin Ronghua stated that the National Meteorological Center would continue to strongly support Guangzhou in building and utilizing the Greater Bay Area Sub-center, guiding it to effectively take on the role of providing meteorological forecasting guidance, technical exchanges, and training for Portuguese-speaking countries and regions along the Maritime Silk Road. Guangzhou will be positioned as the frontier pilot for oceanic meteorological navigation forecasting technology, and efforts will be made to explore the co-construction of a global meteorological navigation center.
